2005 Bonneville Salt Flats Racing Motorcycle

BUILT FOR PURE SPEED

In September 2006, Mark Souter of Longmont,
will race this motorcycle at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah,
to try and set a new world record in the A-PG, 1350 cc motorcycles class.
The current world record in this class is 163.854 mph and Mark
is aiming to go 165-170 mph on the 5 mile long "short course" at Bonneville.

The motorcycle, which is used only for racing, is stripped down to the bare minimum,
with a 38 pound frame and nonessentials like the kickstand removed.
This engine will generate 135 - 140 horsepower at the rear wheel.
It is an A-PG class motorcycle which means it uses a special racing frame
and a Harley-style gasoline-fueled pushrod engine.
